Turkish Coffee

Turkish coffee is a method of coffee preparation that originated in Middle Eastern and European countries, including Turkey, Iran and Greece. It's made by combining finely ground coffee beans with water (and often sugar) in a pot called a cezve.

Pairing: Baklava or Turkish delight

Difficulty: Hard

Ingredients

  • 20 g. very finely ground coffee beans
  • 240 ml. water
  • Sugar (optional)

Steps

  1. Add water to the cezve (Turkish coffee pot).
  2. Add sugar to taste.
  3. Heat until the water is warm.
  4. Add the coffee into the cezve and stir until mixed.
  5. Put the cezve back on the heat and let it froth up slowly without stirring.
  6. Once it starts to froth, remove it from the heat.
  7. Serve the coffee into the cups, making sure each cup gets an equal amount of froth.
