Mocha

The Mocha is a chocolate-flavored variant of a latte. It is typically made with one third espresso and two thirds steamed milk, but a portion of chocolate is added, typically in the form of sweet cocoa powder, although many varieties use chocolate syrup

Ingredients

  • 1 shot espresso
  • 2 oz. steamed milk
  • 1 oz. chocolate syrup
  • 1 oz. foamed milk
  • Sugar (optional)

Steps

  1. Pull a shot of espresso using an espresso machine.
  2. Heat milk in a milk frother or on the stove until steaming.
  3. Foam the milk using a milk frother or by pouring it back and forth between two pitchers.
  4. Pour the espresso and chocolate syrup into a mug.
  5. Add the steamed milk to the mug.
  6. Top the mocha with a layer of foamed milk.
  7. Optional: add sugar to taste.
